About Helping Hand EAP
Learn More About The Helping Hand Program
The Helping Hand Employee Assistance Program (EAP) was first established in Eastern North Carolina in 1985. It began with a single industrial client and two very dedicated therapists. Today’s Helping Hand EAP provides counseling services to a variety of clients along the Eastern seaboard. Very different than a lot of our competitors, we have intentionally kept our program small enough to keep our interactions and services personal, responsive, and client-focused.
Why the development of the Helping Hand EAP?
Industrial Research during the 1970s and 1980s revealed mental health issues were significant detractors to job productivity. Hence, the Helping Hand EAP was developed to emphasize preventative measures and interventions rather than just crisis management. Our program provides employees with the support, encouragement, and skills needed to constructively address destructive issues. Otherwise such issues may negatively impact their job performance, work and family relationships, health, and financial security.
Our Philosophy:
We believe most people experience tough times in their lives. Some difficulties will adversely affect their work performance. Many have good work histories and can return to their previous performance levels if provided the appropriate counseling services and interventions in a timely manner. Both employers and employees benefit with the Helping Hand program. Employers benefit by retaining these good employees and eliminating the associated costs of hiring new employees. Investing in an employee’s well-being leads to improvement in their circumstances, a greater sense of security, increased company loyalty, overall enhanced staff’s morale, and ‘last but not least,’ improvement in everyone’s bottom line!!!
